Le monde n’a probablement jamais été aussi proche d’une conflagration générale qu’aujourd’hui ! Jamais il n’a été au bord de la catastrophe comme maintenant ! Jamais il n’a été autant divisé et égoïste qu’aujourdhui ! Même pendant la longue période de guerre froide entre l’ex. URSS et les Etats-Unis—où le monde était aussi arrivé au seuil de l’embrasement—il y avait des bonnes volontés de la part de certains États et groupes régionaux qui se levaient pour dire : HALTE ! ON VA VERS LE NON RETOUR ! Même l’ONU—l’Organisation gouvernementale mondiale par excellence—jouait, dans une certaine mesure, ses rôles d’arbitre et de médiateur. Aujourd’hui, la situation est plus grave encore. Nous sommes en face d’un monde divisé en morceaux—Global South, Global North, G7, BRICS, etc—les guerres partout, l’absence de bonnes volontés capables de jouer le rôle de médiateurs, la démobilisation générale et le laisser-aller et le laisser-faire des gouvernements—et de l’imminence d’une catastrophe nucléaire généralisée qui risque d’entraîner l’humanité toute entière dans son sillage, avec des conséquences inimaginables. Les peuples du monde sont sortis pour crier leur inquiétude sur les risques réels que pose l’état du monde aujourd’hui et dire : STOP ! ON A ATTEINT LA LIMITE ! Il FAUT AGIR ET AGIR MAINTENANT ! Et la seule et unique façon de le faire est par la DIPLOMACIE ET LE DIALOGUE ! PAS LA GUERRE ! Les États peuvent avoir des visions et des idéologies différentes—cela est dans la nature des choses—mais quand la planète est EN DANGER DE DISPARITION, ils doivent mettre leurs idéologies de côté et se mobiliser—comme ils l’ont fait pendant la pandémie Covid-19–pour la sauver. Car nous n’avons qu’une SEULE planète, et si nous la détruisons, comme nous sommes en train de le faire aujourd’hui, par nos propres mains, nous détruisons en même temps l’HUMANITE TOUTE ENTIÈRE. Ne laissons pas la MAISON-MONDE BRULER ! AGISSONS, AVANT QU’IL NE SOIT TROP TARD !
CALL FROM WOLRD INTELLECTUALS AGAINST WAR AND FOR THE RESCUE OF HUMANITY
The world has probably never been so close to a generalized and global conflagration as it is today. Never has it been at the edge of a deadly catastrophe as it is now. Never has it been so divided and so selfish. Even during the long period of the Cold War between the former Soviet Union and the United States—where the world has also run through the risk of a World “Warm War”—there were good wills from both states and regional groups which have risen to say “HALT! WE ARE HEADING TO A POINT OF NO RETURN! Even the UNO—the world governmental organization par excellence—was playing, to a certain point, its roles of arbiter and mediator. Today, the situation is much more serious. We are faced with a world divided into pieces—Global North, Global South, G7, BRICS, etc—wars erecting everywhere under our eyes, lack of good wills able to play the role of mediators, general demobilization and laisser-faire, laisser-aller on behalf of governments—and the imminence of a generalized nuclear catastrophe that would certainly drag the entire humanity behind it, with unthinkable consequences. The peoples of the world have taken to the streets to express their worry about the real risks that the state of the world poses today and have said clearly: STOP ! WE HAVE REACHED THE LIMIT! WE MUST ACT AND ACT NOW! And the only and unique way to do just that is through DIPLOMACY, NOT WAR! The states may have differences in their visions and ideologies—this is in the nature of things—but when the planet is IN DANGER OF DISPARITION, as it is now, they must put their ideologies aside and mobilize—as they did during the Covid-19 pandemic—to save it. Because we have only ONE PLANET, and if we destroy it, as we are doing today with our own hands, we destroy at the same THE ENTIRE HUMANITY. WE MUST NOT LET THE WORLD HOUSE BURN! LET’S ACT BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!
